Hi, Kim:

I consulted Belden's Historical Atlas (1879). Lot 16, Concession 3 is located very near Inkerman, Ontario. At that time, the families owning lots in that area were "Curry", "Mulloy" and "Marshall", plus one that seems to read "Kahaley".

If you would like to look at the online version of this Atlas, go to:

Hope this helps,
Kathryn

Forgot to respond to your inquiry about cemeteries.

Here is a list from Lynne Cook's web site (http://www.empey.ca/lynne/lynnecook.html)
- There is a transcription of Knight's Cemetery on that site.

MOUNTAIN TWP. CEMETERIES

STP St. Peters - Anglican - South Mountain –
[Concession 2, lot 13 - beside Baldwins Bridge, east of village of South Mountain]

SMT Union - South Mountain - west of the village

STD St. Daniel's - South Mountain - concession 2, lot 8

INK Inkerman - in village of Inkerman

KN Knights cemetery - outside of village of Inkerman

VAN United - Van Camp [east of Development Road]

Cheers,
Kathryn

Hi Kim
Just saw your post from 2006. I visited Inkerman in Mountain Twp. just last week, searching for the Kahala (aka Kahaley) farm located near that village. The family I was researching were also Catholic and they are buried in the only Catholic cemetery nearby, St. Daniel's, located in South Mountain, Mountain Twp. South Mountain is a small village and it only took a few minutes to search the cemetery for the site I was after. This is the url for the old County Atlas of 1874 which shows farm ownership and even has a name search feature:
http://digital.library.mcgill.ca/countyatlas/searchmapframes...
You will find Concession III of Mountain Twp. just below the village of Inkerman.
Hope this is of use to you.
