Samuel Abernethy as well his cousin Rebecca Abernethy Carruthers

Looking for information on my Gt. Grandparents Samuel Abernethy born in Ireland and came to Canada at age 22 years. He had a cousin named Rebecca Carruthers who was 48 years young who had come to Canada with her husband James and child before Samuel. Samuel was born in 1848 and died in 1933. They had both lived in and around Simcoe County I believe. I would like to know the names of Samuel's siblings and parents, so that I can move on in my tree. If anyone knows of this family I would appreciate the information you can share.
Sincerely
Elaine

A son William John 1848-1872 and daughter Susan Bell 1853-1872 are also there.
Christ Church Saint Judes Anglican Cemetery, Essa, Simcoe County Ontario.

Rebecca is on 1861 census in Essa Simcoe County.
The first child born Canada was 10 on this census so they immigrated around 1850.
It may say on James Carruthers info on 1901 census [if he is still alive] when they immigated.

I am proposing a family for your Samuel. Just as Samuel's birth year varies, so does Edward's (1843-1851) depending on the record, as does their sister, Elizabeth. Edward and Elizabeth were in Simcoe County in 1881 but they later moved to Toronto. It appears that Elizabeth never married. Records show that Edward & Elizabeth immigrated to Ontario in 1875.

Note that Samuel's daughters, Margaret & Mary, were not only on the 1901 census with their parents in Barrie, they were also picked up on the 1901 Census with their Aunt Elizabeth in Toronto.

You are welcome. Have you seen the posting last October about Rebecca's family here by a lady named Dawn? You may be able to help each other:
