I am wondering if anyone has information about the history of the WRIGGLESWORTH family who came from Bugthorpe, Yorkshire, England & eventually settled in Hornings Mills & Honeywood, now both in Dufferin County.

I have an Elizabeth WIGGLESWORTH born abt 1831 in Toronto. I don't know who her parents are.
She married a Robert WILLIAMS 8 Dec 1854 in Toronto. The family moved to Illinois, USA for quite a few years, before returning to Artemesia Township, Grey Co.
Does she connect to you?

I can look up names and post them, along with dates. I didn't initially because both Hornings Mills and Honeywood located in Dufferin County, Ontario, Canada are tiny hamlets near the Town of Shelburne. Any WRIGGLESWORTH from any of these places are all part of the same family.

They came to Canada from Bugthorpe, Yorkshire and first settled in Oxford County, Ontario. One branch then moved to Ashgrove near Milton, Ontario, before at least one brother moved to Hornings Mills.

The area was then called "Yorkshire Settlement", as so many from Yorkshire, England came over to this part of Ontario.

WRIGGLESWORTH and WIGGLESWORTH are apparently 2 different families, however Artemesia in Grey County Ontario is not all that far from Dufferin County, so a WRIGGLESWORTH from Artemesia could be related to ours.
