Voters List Cochrane 1962
William Quirt, engineer
Leona Quirt,
Mrs Harvey Quirt, widow

1974 Voters List Cochrane
William Quirt, pensioner
Mrs W Quirt

1996 phone directory for Cochrane gives a William Quirt 108 6th Aveneu.

I found these two graves but they are in Memorial Gardens Breslau Cemetery Waterloo Regional Municipality.
William T Quirt 1918-1997
Leona R Quirt 1919-1984
Were they living with one of the daughters and that's why they were buried there I wonder?
The name Leona is not very common and this one died 1984 which is the date you gave so I was thinking it may be them.

This is a long shot and I may be 'way off course but it is a start.
I thought that Mrs Harvey Quirt on Cochrane voter's list of 1962 may have been William's mother.
I found a marriage registration.
Harvey Larence Quirt, 24, b USA, trainman, s/o Thomas Quirt & Elmira McDowell married Attie Annie Boehme, 18, b Chisholm tsp, d/o Wm Boehme & Bertha Frederick 21 Nov 1916 at Chisholm Tsp Nipissing District.
They were both living in Port Arthur.
Both Methodist.
Witn: Henry J Boehme and Hilda E McNutt.
Intended place of marriage: Kell PO Nipissing District.
Kells still exists in Chisholm Tsp Nipissing District.

Headstone says William born 1918.

1921 census Quebec, Pontiac-Temiscamingue-Abitibi
QUIRT
Harvey, 29, b USA,immigrated 1893, conductor
Hattie?, 22, b Ont
Willie, 2, Ont
Osborne, no age, b Quebec
1921 is the last census released.

You are looking in a time period where not much information has been released.
Births released to 1914; deaths to 1939 and marriages to 1929.
The best way for you to do this is:
Get your parent's marriage rego or your dad's birth rego. It will have his parents listed on it.
Then get your grandparents birth regos/death/ marriage registrations and it will give their parent's names. One of the registrations should give more names.
Just keep working backwards from yourself.

Here is a family tree

1901 and 1911 census on www.automatedgenealogy.com

The only Leona that I found on 1921 in the general areas is in Sudbury.
Leona Humphrey, b 1919, aged 3 with her parents William and Gertrude and sister Gwendoline, 2. Father is a barber.

Wow! Thank you very much for all the information and the quick response. The voters lists must be spot on I don't think there were to many quirts up in that area now or then. I can not express how much your information and time finding it are appreciated. I am new to all this stuff but i will keep chugging away.
