(nee Leclaire) It is with great sorrow that the family of Jeanne Campbell announces her death on September 25, 2001 at York Central Hospital in Aurora, Ontario. Jeanne graduated from Timmins School of Nursing and was a well-known and respected Registered Nurse in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, She worked for many years at Anson General Hospital, and spent the last few years of her career as RN at the South Centennial Manor Hospital. A true pioneer, although she never realized it at the time, Jeanne worked shift work while raising a large family. She was a wonderful mother and we will always remember her love for her family, her sense of humour, and the values in life that she taught us all. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband James Arthur (Jim) Campbell, and her great-grandchildren Bria Elliott-Phillips and Makhaila Corbell. She will always be loved and remembered by her 9 children Donna (John Rowlandson), Ellen (Patrick Elliott), Jim (Riitta Kallio), Christene (Tamas Gabor), Kathy (Ewen Stewart), Susan (Gord Blackwell), Nancy (Marc Charbonneau), Janet (Richard Lachance) and Laurie (Ross Crust). Her 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren will have many wonderful "Granny Campbell" stories to share over the years. Jeanne will also be sorely missed by her many friends in both Iroquois Falls and Aurora. Jeanne fought valiantly through diabetes and kidney failure for the past eight years. She taught us all about courage, perseverance, and love as she faced this horrible disease with grit and determination. Finally, gently, her brave heart gave way. We give thanks for having her with us for 76 years, even while we wish that it could have been for 76 more. Rest well and in peace Mom, knowing
that you will always be a part of each of our lives. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation in her memory.
