Henderson Family - Cochrane District
My Great Grandparents emigrated to Canada/Cochrane from London in approx. 1912. My Gt Grandfather was George Henderson (b.1863 - d.1932) and he was a plumber. My Gt. Grandmother was Ellen Henderson (b.1863 d.1930). 2 of their daughters went with them. But I have found it impossible to find what has happened to them. They are Grace Ellen Henderson (b.1886 Battersea, London, England) and Muriel Kathleen Henderson (b.1903 in London, England) She was known as Kit. I have seen the death certificates of my Gt. Grandparents and know that Grace signed both of these in Cochrane. Her surname seems to be "Portais" although I can't say for sure. I can't find either of their marriages or anything about them. I have searched and searched and am now leaving this message in the hope someone may be able to help me.

Brilliant, you have done so much for me. Finding the children of Grace too is fantastic. I knew Jean and her daughter went to Canada for a visit but now I have so much information. It is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Henderson Family - Cochrane District
I noticed that a number of people seem to be interested in George Aberdein HENDERSON and his wife Ellen SMITH, who lived at Cochrane until the 1930's. I have recently been working on this family line, as I have an interest in Ellen SMITH's ancestry (she came from Somerset, England). If anyone would like to know more about her family tree, do please feel free to contact me, and I shall be happy to share what I have.
Best wishes,
Sue Hembury-Kellow
