Surnames: Laplante, Bachand, Valade
I have been researching the Laplante family for 20 years, not solidly, but I have not found much about them until I met a woman from Canada who had a few clues and she sent me here to post.

My grandmother Marie Blanche Eva Laplante was born in Ottawa, Canada, to Augustin Laplante and Ester Lefebvre. She was born 8 Oct. 1896. I have long thought that Joseph Laplante and Alphousine Valade were her grandparents. But I was shown a documentation that these people were married in 1892, and then when I reread my grandmother's baptism certificate which is in French, I realized that it said that Joseph and Alphousine were her GOD PARENTS. We had never ever realized that before.

I am looking for any further information about any of these people. At the moment I do not have access to records from Canada. I am hoping to be able to access records through Ancestry.com in a few months, when my current membership can be upgraded. But until them, I have these few new leads and not much to go on.

Marie Blanche Eva Laplante, who in America spelled her name LaPlant, was raised in a convent. I have now found that she had two brothers. A Joseph and an Arthur. She also married a Joseph Bachand in Canada and had five children who were born in America, but I have yet to find out where, which I am going to get in contact with one of my aunts to find out more.

After he died he married my grandfather, Daniel Henry Biles in the United States and settled in California. My grandmother did not speak much about her childhood or her family. She mostly spoke about the Biles family. She died in 1974.

If anyone has any information or leads that I could use, I would be greatly appreciative.

Sara Bergeron was born in Canada about 1849. She married Augustin LaPlante, born in 1847. Their children were Joseph, born in 1871, Augustin, born in 1875, Sara, born in 1877, Eugene, born in 1878 and died in 1958, and Albert, born in 1888. Eugene was my grandfather. He married Marie Anne Dijardins who was hit by a trolley and killed when she visited her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Agustin LaPlante and Ester Lefebvre.

I have been trying for weeks to locate the parents of my great grandfather and grandmother, Augustin and Sara Bergeron and their wedding date. The Canadian census information does not list members of the family. I have found a Felix Bergeron and a Dominique Bergeron who could possibly be their parents but I can't confirm that. Augustin and Sara show up in the 1881 census, living in the Russell district. At that time Joseph was 10, young Augustin, 6, young Sara 4, and Eugene 2.
