Hi Karen, Check out the web site for the Brantford BDM, www.brantford.library.on.ca/librarysearch.asp , It has lots of EDDYS, but it says the date of the notice rather than the date of the event itself when it happen. I notice with that with my family members it was only off by days or a week of the event. I found in the Cathcart Methodist Church Marriage Register 1898-1931, Edward Percy Eddy, 26yrs. of Burford. Birth-place Wilsonville, Ont. His father Alfred Eddy & mother Mable Roberts. Witnessess, Winnifred Eddy. Place of Marriage- Parsonage,Burford, Ont. married on July 7th 1926 to Dell Wilson Murray, 29yrs. of Burford. Birth-place, Hickson. Her father , Arthur Murray & mother Anna Wilson, Witnesses, Nettie F. Raymer. Minister- G.C. Raymer. That is all I could find and there is no fee for this. Sorry I don't have the Oakland Cem. book. Good Luck on your search, Gerry

I did some quick searching for you. Go to www.interment.net/ at the top where it say SEARCH, put in you Eddy name & Canada in the next box and search. You'll find the Oakland Cemetery on there and just go into that site and you'll find your Eddy family members, there are quite a few of them. Gerry

I would appreciate lookups in all of your BMD & Cemetery records of Brant County for the following surnames along with all individuals or people associated with them:

Conkright, Conkwright, Cronk, Cronkhite, Cronkite, Cronkright, Cronkrite, Cronkwright, Cronkwrite, Konkwright, Kronkwright and any other variations

My Conkright, Conkwright, Cronkright, Cronkrite, Cronkwright, Cronkwrite, Konkwright, Kronkwright relatives were known to have lived in the Burford, Burford Tsp, Brant Cty areas for about the last 150-200 years (circa 1800-1850's) along with the neighbouring counties of Elgin, Norfolk & Oxford but surprisingly there seems to be very little information available about them on the afore mentioned Ancestry.com message boards, records and family tree sections.

At present I believe that I descend from the line of Charles Henry Conkright or Cronkrite or Cronkwright. Thankyou in advance for any help that you can supply.

Here is a web site for BDM for the Brantford as well. You should check it out. But please notice it is a date of the notice rather the date of the event itself, but I've notice the dates are close the date it really happened. www.brantford.library.on.ca/libraryseach.asp I did search conkwright and it came back with 2 names, but then I tried just Cronk and it came with a lot, along with cronk, cronkwight, cronkhite, cronkite. I will also go through the books that I have and I will get back to you. good luck Gerry

Hi Gerry, thanks for the info on the CRONK's that you found in the Burgesville and Tillsonburg Cemeteries located in Oxford Co.

Lucy (Gillis) CRONKWRIGHT 1885-1971 was my great aunt and the younger sister of my grand mother Mary Ellen (Gillies or Gillis) CRONKWRIGHT 1867-1960 and they married the CRONKRITE or CRONKWRIGHT brothers who were born in Burford Tp., Brant Co.

Lucy GILLIS married Emanuel (Manuel) CRONKRITE b. 10 Feb 1886 who was the son of Charles CRONKRITE and Mary Jane McEWEN, Farmer, Kelvin, Ontario. Registered 3 Apr 1886, Dr. A. H. Chamberlain, Registrar Albert Foster, Archives of Ontario Reg. # 001710-1886.

Mary Ellen GILLIS who was the daughter of Samuel GILLIES or GILLIS and Catherine BIER married ( 24 May 1909 in Simcoe, Norfolk Co., ON, AO Reg. # 015205-1909, both the Bride & Groom were residents of Ranleigh or Ranelagh, ON ) Jacob John CRONKRITE or KONKWRIGHT b. 6 Jan 1884 who was the son of Charles CRONKRITE and Mary Jane SUMMERS or COOMB, Farmer, Burford, Ontario. Registered 30 Jan 1884, Dr. A. H. Chamberlain, Registrar Albert Foster, Archives of Ontario (AO) Reg. # 001622-1884. They were married by J. J. Liddy by License and the witnesses were Fred W. W. Pollard and Etta Rice from Simcoe, Ontario.

Fred W. W. POLLARD (age 22 years) who was the son of Thomas POLLARD and (mother's name not given) married Etta M. RICE (age 18 years) who was the daughter of Merritt RICE and Minnie KONKWRIGHT or CRONKRITE or CRONKWRIGHT on 24 May 1909 in Simcoe, Norfolk Co., ON, AO Reg. # 015204-1909, both the Bride & Groom were residents of Simcoe, ON. They were married by J. J. Liddy by License, and the witnesses were Jacob Konkwright or Cronkwright and Mary Gilles or Gillis from Ranleigh or Ranelagh, Ontario.

Manuel and Lucy (Gillis) CRONKWRIGHT had 3 sons and at least one daughter who I knew named Lydia Jane CRONKWRIGHT b. 26 April 1912 in Norwich, Oxford Co., Ontario and she died in Tillsonburg, Oxford Co., ON on 13 Sept 1989. Lydia married Ernest (Ernie) MILLER who predeceased her in 1974. Both are buried in Tillsonburg Cemetery. Lydia and Ernie MILLER had 2 daughters and 3 sons. Lydia also had a brother named Keith CRONKWRIGHT who predeceased her.

You called me "George" accidentally and thats OK because you reminded me again of my late father-in-law Charles Mac Gedir-Guider 1913-2001 from Peterson, Saskatchewan to Norwich, ON; who used to call me "George" also!
