Classification: Query

There is a family in the 1880 census for Iowa that could fit if the years fit for births of Abram and Sarah. As Abram Lepard is an unusual name and they were from Canada it does seem possible.

1880 LINCOLN, ADAIR, IA
LEPARD
Abram, age 50, born Canada both parents born PA
Sarah, wife, age 46, born Canada both parents born Scotland
Loretta, daughter age 18 born Canada
Izabell, daughter age 17, born Canada
Ida, daughter, age 7 born IA
Alexander, son age 16 born Canada
Alfred, son age 15 born Canada
John, son age 6 born Iowa
Berton, son age 4 born IA
Peter, father, age 82, born PA both parents born Germany
all children show both parents born Canada

so if this is your Sarah and Abram, her parents both shown as born Scotland which does not fit with the Indian story

they are in IA in 1900 also and again Sarah shown both parents born Scotland
In 1910 Sarah is living with her son Alfred in IL, she is a widow and once again
shows both parents born Scotland

1861 LAMBTON, CANADA WEST
LEPPARD
Abram , age 31, yeoman, born Canada West
Sarah, age 26 born Canada East
Peter, age 63, born United States
Mary, age 71, born United States

there is an Ontario marriage in Lambton Co.
Abraham Leopard age 30, born Ontario
father P. Leopard, mother Sarah Campbell
residence Brooke Township
to Miss ??
age 30, born Ontario
father Alexander Campbell, mother not shown
residence Brooke Township
marriage date April 10, 1860

there are quite a few Campbells in Brooke township in 1861 census
the males are Daniel, age 42, born Scotland
John, age 39, born Scotland
Neil, age 37 born Scotland
Alexander, age 28 born Scotland

but no Alexander right age to be Sarah's father
