Jacob C.MOOD and Almira Pearl BUTLER were my great grandparents. Jacob was born 15 Aug 1841 and died in Kansas 2 July 1933. Almira was born 15 Aug 1849 in Wellington, NS, and died 6 Dec 1911. They were married in Tusket, Yarmouth County, NS 1 Jan 1866. They had 10 children: DeLancie Judson, Bradford Leroy, Jessica May, James Marion, Olivia Wyman, Edith Blanche, Reginald (Rex) C., Alice Cary, Arthur Eugene and LuEtta Abigail. Olivia Wyman Mood married James William TUCKER( son of Jacob M. and Sarah Maud DICKERSON). They had 7 children, one of whom died as an infant. Jacob Mood's father Cornelius was born 9 May 1809. He married first Abigail Ring who was born 13 Aug 1812 and died 26 Feb 1864. They had 9 children. Mood's Mill at Pleasant Lake, Yarmouth County, was named for Cornelius Mood who built his homestead and sawmill on the shore of the lake. Abigail Ring is descended from Stephen HOPKINS, John HOWLAND and Elder William BREWSTER. Almira Pearl Butler's mother was Phoebe Porter Butler, who became Cornelius Mood's second wife - he married his daughter-in-law's mother. The Yarmouth County Museum research library has further information on these families. I hope this helps and let me know if I can assist you with additional information. There is also a published book called "Butlers and Kinsfolk"publihsed in 1944.

Cornelius Mood is my GGG grandfather, Jacob Mood is my GG grandfather. His daughter Olivia Wyman Mood (Tucker) is my G grandmother. I have a newspaper clipping from Nickerson, Kansas - Reno county March 9, 1911, of the obituary for her. She died in a house fire saving all her children. Her husband William Tucker had died 3 years earlier. All the children were given out to neighbors. My grandmother was one of them. I have names and dates which I think are birthdates of alot of the Mood's starting in 1807. I would love to share any of this with any of you. I am also looking for information on William Tucker my great grandfather. Thanks

Good to hear from you, Stephanie. My info on Olivia Wyman Mood only goes until about 1923. Which of Olivia's many daughters was your grandmother? I was unaware of the circumstances of Olivia's death. Do you have photos? I do and would be happy to share. I probably have some of her children as well. I think I've been in touch with Mabel Tucker's family but will have to check my files. My database shows (James) William Tucker died 21 Dec 1903 in Sterling, KS.

Janet, I would love to send you a copy of this newspaper article. Email me at my address and we can exchange information. I do have pics of Olivia and a few of her kids outside of her home. I am the granddaughter of Valletta sister to Mabel. The girls names are Olive, Ellen, Mabel, Valletta and a son named Marion. I am so new at this and I thank you for your reply. Stephanie
