WILSON, Gordon "Bennie" - 78, 154 Grove Rd., Yarmouth, died February 4, 1999, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Born November 10, 1920, in Saint John, N.B., he was a son of the late Robert and Addie (Campbell) Wilson. He was
a former employee of Cosmos Imperial Mills and of the Yarmouth YMCA. He also worked in the tourism industry. He
was well known for trap and skeet shooting, and was an avid speed skater, for which his was awarded the 1936 New
Brunswick championship, as well as the 1938 Prince Edward Island championship. He was a great sportsman. He was
a veteran of the Second World War, and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, the former Kay Pyne; son, Gordie, Yarmouth;
daughters, Gloria Wilson-Hamilton, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Gordie Jr. and Lorena. He was predeceased by brothers,
Robert Jr., Emery and Elsworth; sister, Beatrice Nickolson. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral 2 p.m.
Sunday, February 7, in H.M. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, Rev. Gregory Denton officiating. Interment will take place in the spring. Donations may be made to the VON, Yarmouth Branch.
