Mary Ann appears to have gone by the Lutes spelling
as did most of her siblings and parents.

It was record below, though, that made me realize that I had the right Mary Ann Lutes and married to the right Duncan McLean. The Wm F. Wiltshire, brother-in-law, married her
sister Lillie and I already had their information.. and it led me to their 1890 Massachusetts marriage record found on
www.familysearch.org - she was recorded as LUTTS.
I could never figure out how she came to marry someone from Cape Breton when she was born in NB and her parents and siblings had all immigrated to Massachusets - UNTIL I realized that he was back and forth across the border.
