Sorry to say Danielle but I have found NO link between the Ackers of Shelburne County and those from Lunenburg...therefore I cannot link your Acker into our Acker Family Tree.

Surnames: acker rudolph boyd walters
Annie Acker who married David(I think it was.. don't have my records handy) Rudolph in the late 1800s in Churchover Shelburne Co. is in my tree... she was my great grandfather Charles sister in law. Their dad Samuel and mother Mary Boyd (nee Walters) are my brick walls although supposedly their grandfather was Jacob who came a palentine but died while still on ship in the harbor in 1750.

There were many Palentines in the lower Hudson Valley of New York..

This is not a family that I am researching but you should be able to find quite a bit from the following online resources. All are free and quite easily searchable.
Nova Scotia vital Stats (birth, marriages, deaths) are available at
www.novascotiagenealogy.ca.
You may need to download a viewer program which is free onsite to see the actual record.

The 1901 and 1911 Census can be searched free at
www.automatedgenealogy.ca

Finally, the LDS Church site is
www.familysearch.org

Lots of information there.

Happy Hunting.
