Alfred Grue Fielding, 80, Willow Street, Truro, died Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Colchester Hospital, Truro. Born in Rhode Island, he was a son of the late John and Etta (Grue) Fielding. He is survived by his wife, the former Verta Smith; two daughters, Betty (Mrs Harry Forbes), Truro; Shirley (Mrs Laurie Black), Halifax; a son, Alfred Jr., Truro; two brothers, Charles and John, both of Truro; four sisters, Eileen Richards, Truro; Audrey Russell, New Glasgow; Lilian Gelling and Hazel Munt, both of Hamilton, Ont.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth MacKenzie and Elsie Smith. A private family service was held Friday, Feb. 13, at the Ettinger Kennedy Memorial Residence, Rev. George M. MacLean officiating. Spring burial will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro. Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart Fund.
