what I am trying to look for is more information on the two of them and their parents I don't have solid evidence on either of their parents Help would be very much appreciated!!!!
Thanks so much!

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Not really researching them but in the 1838 census Farquhar Falconer has 2 males over 14 (presumably Robert and one other) and a female over 14 (probably his wife) plus Farquhar for a family of 4. Several tree's at ancestry.com have Farquhar as Robert's father and he is one of t he early settlers in the area. On the same page is Duncan Falconer 1M 1 F under 6; 1M 1F 6-14; 3 F over 14 plus Duncan for a family of 8 so wouldn't expect Duncan is his father. Good luck. Believe the Falconer's lived just a little downstream from my Fraser ancestors at Eureka. Bill in Montana

Bill again: Hit the key at ancestry.com for relationship to you (me) and find that your Robert Falconer is the Father-in-law of a my 4th cousin, twice removed :). (Through Cameron relations) Real close as my wife often tells me. Found my Map sheet 87 of the Department of Lands and Forests original grants map and see Farquhar Falconer has a 200 acre grant immediately north of my 3rd G Grandfather Alex Fraser's 200 acre grant at Eureka. Just north of them Alexander Faulkner has a grant that looks a little bigger but I don't see an acreage. To the east and consisting of the land between the East Fork and West Fork of the River Pictou Alex Falconer has a 160 acre grant. Not aware of the relationship between Farquhar & Alex Falconer nor if Alexander Faulkner is not the same fellow as Alex Falconer. In the 1879 Atlas Farquhar's grant is split up. A Wm Matheson has the West 75 acres, John A Falconer has 50 acres on the north, Fred Falconer has 45 acres on the south, Thos Falconer has 27 acres next to the river and a small hard to read parcel on the south that looks like a Fraser owns. Probably only 3 acres on Thos, Falconers side of the road toward the river. Hope some of this is new and helpful. Bill

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Hi, Bill. I believe the Duncan Falconer mentioned by you above is the son of Alexander & Margaret Falconer. Duncan died in 1870 at the age of 90 years and states that his parents are not living. One death record says that Duncan was born in West River and the other Windsor, LOL!! Given the Scottish way of naming children -- it is most likely that Duncan's eldest son was an Alexander.
There are memorials for land grants in Pictou from a Farquhar, John Jr, and John Sr. Falconer in the 1780's. They can be found on the Nova Scotia Archives site -- quite an interesting read.

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Alexander Falconer +8 were passengers on the Hector -- Loch Broom to Pictou, NS 8 Jul 1773.

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Thanks for mentioning the "Hector" . Had overlooked that. Not sure what you mean by Alexander Falconer +8? All I see on my list is Alex'r Falconer as the sole Falconer passenger? Do you happen to know if this Alexander who according to Patterson's book settled at Hopewell is related to Farquhar Falconer? In the old grant map Farquhar Falconer has a 200 acre grant and just to the east an Alex Falconer has a 160 acre grant and North of them is Alexander Faulkner with a bigger unlabeled area to the north, probably 250 acres. Have always assumed Falconer and Faulkner were the same name but maybe a bad assumption.

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Hi, the info on Alexander Falconer and the +8 was found in the Immigrants to Canada before 1867. I am assuming that there were 8 persons who accompanied him -- given that Duncan wasn't born until 1790, it was likely that there may have been some young children & his wife or perhaps other family members with their spouses. I am wondering whether John Falconer and Farquhar Falconer may be brothers of Alexander??? Will keep looking!!!

Re: FALCONER of foxbrook early 1800s MacDonald
Hello: Glad to try and help out. Forgot about the 1817 census. 3 Falkner's in Hopewell area. All are neighbors. John 1 M 16-50, 1 boy, 1 women for a family of 3 Widow 1 boy, 1 women, 1 girl for a family of 3 (believe girls can be virtually of any age- usually a girl or unmarried daughter) Farquhar- 1 M over 50, 2 Males 16-50, 5 boys, 1 women, 1 girl. for a family of 10.
Was hoping we might prove who Robert's parents were but it appears it could be John, the widow or Farquhar. So it goes in genealogy. Probably it's narrowed down to just those three however. Good luck. Bill in Montana
