I am serching for any info on my mother Grace Evelyn Turner Born Oct 7/1911, in Pictou County, Death Feb. 23/1946 Fort Erie Ontario. Remains transported to Pictou. Government of Ontario says buried in Brookside Cemetary. Have searched this Cemetary and found no record of burial there. A half brother was also returned to NS with the remains and given to Grace Evelyn's parents John William and Bessie (Smith) Turner and or ( a possible husband - Surname unknown) My mother died using the name of my birth father Makins (George Victor Makins). No idea of name of half brother and so need surname of my half brother's father so I can locate my mother's grave in case she was buried under that name and not her maiden name of Turner, and or my father's name of Makins.

Sory there were typos in my previous message. the Marriage date for Joseph William Turner and Bessie Smith was 1907 not 1909. Jack smith middle name was Dwyer not swyer. According to the 1891 census, Charles, Matilda and bessie were living in Selma, NS. Joseph William died in 1943 and Bessie Turner died in 1956. the 1881 Census shows Joseph;s siblings as Margeret age 13, Martha age 12, Emma G age 5. Also living in that household was John G. Walker which was the maiden name of Joseph's mother Catherine. Margeret maried David E. Teush. Martha married George Wilson. Emma Georgina married Simon E. Thistle. have a look on www.familysearch.org.

Happy Hunting
