MARTELL, Winnifred Mary - 74, Drummond Road, Westville, died July 3, 1997, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Regina, Sask., she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Maggie (Innes) Faulkner. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville. She served in the Canadian Land Army in Scotland during the Second World War and came to Nova Scotia as a war bride. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Charles; daughters, Leona (Mrs. Keith Munsie), Pictou; Virginia (Mrs. Terry Enfield), Sackville; Carolyn Riggs, Charlene (Mrs. Mervin Smith), Westville; Jocelyn (Mrs. Howard Coffin), Stellarton; sons, Earle, Lansdowne; Edwin, at home; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; sisters, Isabelle Carey, Sydney, Australia; Betty Phillips, Weston, Ont.; four nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by infant sister, Florence Elizabeth. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, funeral 3:30 p.m. Sunday, all in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, Rev. James Grant officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
