I have been researching our ancestors in Halifax/Lunenburg. My grandmother is decended from Eddy/Clattenburg line. Looking for descendents of Stephen Clattenburg/Margaret Jennings(1826-?) to learn more info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Deborah

Hi Deborah: My ancestors are also in the Eddy/Clattenburg line (James Henry Eddy and Charlotte Clattenburg). I see your post is a few years old. Have you been able to find out much?

Hi!
Thanks for responding! I have not gotten much past my grandparents. I plan to research more this spring and I hope to visit the family farm in Halifax this spring or summer.
What is your connection to the Eddy/Clattenburg line?
Love to hear from you,
Deborah

Hi again Deborah: I'm trying to find out about my Mother's lineage, which has brought me to the Eddy/Clattenburgs.

I've gone back as far as Nancy Ann Mason, mother to Margaret Jennings, mother to Charlotte Clattenburg, mother to Laura May Eddy, mother to Pearl Elizabeth Martin - my Great Grandmother. (Quite a story with her - a big mystery - too long for this message window!)

According to the 1901 census records (listing for James Eddy and family lists Laura as his daughter and Pearl as his granddaughter), it looks like Laura had Pearl (1898) while still living with her parents, as she didn't marry Charles Martin until 1905.

Feel free to connect with my Tree (Devoe/Arseneau) on Ancestry to see if I have found anything you haven't, and perhaps I can do the same? I would love to learn more about the Eddy/Clattenburgs - I didn't know there was a family farm. I live in New Brunswick, which borders Nova Scotia, and travel to NS a few times a year.

Hope to hear from you again, :)

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
So sorry about not getting back to you sooner. I actually just saw this on my homepage at Ancestry, but wasn't notified of your message through my email address. I thought they used to do that-maybe it's a problem with my email account.
I didn't know about Margaret Jenning's mother, Nancy Ann Mason, so thanks for that information.
I'll email your address above with some more info.
Thanks,
Deb
