Mrs Julia Beck
The death took place at her home in Upper Branch on Jan 10, of Mrs Julia
Beck, widow of the late Edmund Beck, at the age of eighty-three years
and three months. With the passing of Mrs Beck, Upper Branch losses its
oldest resident. She was able to be about until within three days of her
death, when she was seized with pneumonia; this with advanced age
hastened the end. After a short service at the home on Saturday
afternoon conducted by Rev G. P. Endy, the body was taken to the
cemetery and interred, by her late husband, who predeceased her
seventeen years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss; five sons, Harvey
and Dennis, of Upper Branch; Kenneth, of East Dalhousie; Collins, of
Baker's Settlement, and Ananins, with whom she lived, also one daughter,
Mrs Allison Wagner, who will all remember her as a kind and gentle
mother.
The floral offerings were as follows:
Sprays: Ananias and family; Kenneth, Ida and Allison.
Cut flowers: Collins and family.
Wreaths: Dennis and family, Mrs Solomon Oickle.
Bouquets: Ethel and Clarence.
Leaves: Mrs Benjamin Wentzell.
