Not answering your quesry but a question for you. Do you have a Elizabeth Isabel McKay. Researching McKinnons in Inverness County and John McKinnon marreid Elizabeth. All I have for her is she was born 1801, Scotland and died 1856 Culcross, Bruce County, Ontario.

Thanks

Hi Jodi:

Sorry, I do not have an Elizabeth Isabel MacKay, however I do not have much on the MacKay's at all. It is a very popular name in that area. If I come across Elizabeth Isabel I will let you know.

Happy Hunting-

Deb

My great grandmother Johnson was also a McKay from Lake Ainslie. She is listed in 1871 and 1881 census but was married by this time, and I have no information on her family. She was Flora McKay married to John James Johnson, and was born about 1832 or 1833. They were the Malagawatch Johnsons and then moved to Westville in later years where they are both married. I do have info on Gr.gr. Johnson grandparents, but no further- and no further on Mc Kays than
Flora.Have you come across her in your searches? Thanks.

Hi Diane:

The Flora J. McKay the was my gg grandmothers sister was 15 years old in the 1891 census of East Lake Ainslie. I does not appear that there is a connection. The parents of my Donald MacKay were Peter MacKay and Flora MacKinnon. Donald's second wafe was Sarrah Legge. I have no idea who his first wife was. I did get a reply from someone that said they had info on my MacKay's. I am waiting for that info via the US mail. If this connects to the Johnson's I will be in touch.

Thanks for the reply. Happy searching.

Deb

Hello, this e-mail is rather late given the date of your original e-mail, however, the McKay/MacKay you note is in my husband's family tree. Murdock A (Angus) was my husband's grandfather. If you would like more info, let me know.
