Murdock, Hector, John-Joe, Mary, Joe, John Albert, & Hattie DAY
Looking for any information on William Day and Katherine McIntire who were both born late 1870's. William was born in Halifax and Katherine in Sidney. They had seven children that were born in Inverness. Children names are Murdock, Hector, John-Joe, Joe, John Albert, Mary and Hattie. Hattie married a man with surname Little and Mary to a man with surname Burke. John Albert was born 1906, he was my great grandfather, he was the only one that I know of that came to the United States. His parents and siblings stayed in Nova Scotia. I have hit a brickwall with trying to locate info on John Alberts family. Any information on John Alberts siblings and parents would be apprecriated. Thank you, Cindy:)

Re: Murdock, Hector, John-Joe, Mary, Joe, John Albert, & Hattie DAY
Did they live in Inverness town or in Inverness County? Inverness did not exist as a town until after 1900. Before that it was known as Broad Cove. What was their religion? Have you tried the church records?
There is no one with the name Day currently listed as living in Inverness town or surrounding area. There are, however, several people with that name living in other parts of Cape Breton, including Sydney.

Re: Murdock, Hector, John-Joe, Mary, Joe, John Albert, & Hattie DAY
My great grandparents (John Albert Day) marraige lisence just list his place of birth as Inverness, Nova Scotia. He was born 10 March 1906. So it could have been Inverness town.It list's his father William Day as being born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and his mother Catherine McIntire as being born in Sidney, Nova Scotia. My great grandfather's (he went by Albert) obituary in 1993 listed all of his siblings names and being of Nova Scotia. He is the only one who came to the United States in this family. He came in the mid to late 1920's. We believe his father may have been from Ireland. Grampa Day always talked of Ireland and sang irish songs to us and also spoke in Scotch Galic. Then again he spoke of England as well. He was a great story teller of tall tales. I have never been to Nova Scotia and become very confused with the towns and counties. I know of no specific town. All of his siblings, family believe have passed on except for possibly the sister named Hattie. Her married name is Little. William Day not only had a daughter named Hattie, but also a sister named Hattie as well. William was born about 1877-79. Their religion is catholic. Also possible their original name was O'Dea/O'Day. I regret my interest in genealogy came after Grampa Day (Albert) passed on. I have little to go on and am finding this a difficult line to trace. I do not believe I am connected to any of the United States Day's. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Cindy:)
