Hi!

May not be much help, but I'm working on the Alexander Ross family who lived in Little Narrows. There's a lot of that puzzle which remains to be known. They appear to have some connection to folks in the Aberdeen area, but no MacInnis that I know of. I'm not sure about Skye Glen. If you suspect there are connections between your Anne Ross and the Little Narrows Ross, please drop a line. Good luck.

I have two in my families who married McInnis of Skye Glen.
I don't have their parents or siblings however.

A g-g grand uncle, John "Big John" Beaton, b. 1833 Skye Glen, married Jessie McInnis, b. 15 Oct 1847, Skye Glen.
They were married 1 April 1859 at Whycocomagh, and had 8 children: Effie b. 1860; Margaret b. 1862; Ann b. 1865; Donald & Malcolm (twins) b. 20 Feb 1866; John b. 15 Aug 1869; William b. 26 Feb 1872; and Alexander b. 23 Sep 1874--as far as I know all born in Skye Glen

Another g-g grand uncle, Randald Campbell, b. 1831, Scotland, married Flora McInnis on 30 Mar 1864 at Mabou.
She born 17 Mar 1842, Skye Glen. Ranald Campbell's family farmed on the east side of Skye Glen River, and the McInnis' farmed across the river and a bit west. I have some land grant maps of that area with names and dates.

I'll be back in N.S. in June, 2007, to finish up my family history book. Can meet with you, or send what info I have if you email me.
Aloha, Hugh Campbell Beaton, Honolulu

Hi! Would you happen to have any connections to Ross folks in the Whycocomagh or Little Narrows area. Or MacKays from Aberdeen, near Whycocomagh? Donald Fraser Ross

Donald -- my Campbell family from Whycocomagh and Iron Mines area are connected with the Ross name. Rebecca Campbell, 1880-1967, married Daniel J. Ross, 1879-1933, son of John Ross and Margaret McLean. He was born in Whycocomagh and is buried in Stewartdale Cemetery. I do not have any info on his parents or siblings if any.

We're related then. I too am related to Rebecca through her husband. I have quite a bit of info about the Ross side, but not much about your Campbell side. We should meet and talk. Perhaps you can contact me at "donaldross@eastlink.ca" and we can make some arrangements.

Hi Mary Jane. Dad was Norman's brother, I met Norman when I was a kid (grade 5 - 7) when he and your mother visited us ion Berwick NS.

Don't have a lot of info, but by coincidence was talking to my sister Sharlane and she mentioned a box of stuff she found, Once I have it I'll get in touch.

Mary Jane....just remembered that when i was a weeeee tad we visited 2 men in Skye Glen. Never sure of the relation to dad, but they were Neil Angus and Sturgeon (?).

Before the war they had a farm worker named "Peter the Pollack" - he came to Halifax and worked at the shipyards until he died in the sinking of the ERG, a work boat sunk in the harbour. By another coincidence, my father-in-law was on the ERG as well, but swam ashore...
