I am new to genealogy and have traced my grandfather Charles Melville Smith's family back to James Smith born in Scotland and died before 23 Dec 1797 in Hants County. He was married to Barbara (?). My ggrandfather, Henry Smith (1860-1915) was a brother to your ggrandfather, William A. Smith (1843-1904). William would be my great grand uncle, so in a very distant way we are related. Do you have any information on James Smith from Scotland or his wife Barbara? Do you need any information on Henry Smith's family? Hope we can help each other.
