Surnames: Goodwin, Dart, Woodworth, Brenton
Your Goodwins must be related to my Goodwins! I am tring to put a puzzle together myself. My ggggg grandmother Elizabeth Woodworth married Patrick Dart in 1787. He died and she married David Goodwin c1785. He was a soldier and they lived in the St. John area, where he was stationed in the late 1700s. (David's father, Daniel, lived near Fort Cumberland. He was a soldier, too.)

By 1799, Job Dart, a son by Elizabeth's first marriage, was caring for two of his step siblings (Goodwins). Job Dart (my gggg grandfather) lived in Riverside, just down the Shubenacadie River, north of Stewiacke, where he received a grant of land c1800. I believe Job's mother and David Goodwin came to the Stewiacke area to live after Job received his grant. So there were a number of "Goodwins" in this area of the Shubenacadie in the early 1800s. I do not know yet where your Goodwin fits, but I know of 2 other Goodwins who married Brentons. I will look in the info I have, to see if anything makes sense. If you know more names or dates please e-mail me. I am closely related to the Brenton family also!
