Here is the info I have on Louisa Fudge and her descendants. There were quite a few Fudge children in her generation but they did not leave much of a trail that I can find. Anyway here is what I have on Louisa and Alex....

First Generation

1. Alexander McKay Matheson1. Alexander McKay was born in Ellershouse, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 11 March 1869.2 He resided in Ellershouse, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, in 1892.3 Alexander McKay was born in Ellershouse, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 11 March 1867.4,5 Alexander McKay died in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 7 February 1945; he was 75.6 P. M. Hospital. He was buried in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 10 February 1945. Maplewood Cemetery. He resided in O’Brien Street, Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, in 1945.1 Alexander lived in Windsor all of his life. Occupation: Yardmaster, Dominion Atlantic Railroad.1

Alexander was a railroad worker living in Ellerhouse in 1892.7
In 1911 widower Alex lived with his ten children and “Jennet Burns, aged 68” probably his mother.8

On 19 July 1892 when Alexander McKay was 23, he married Louisa Fudge1, daughter of George Fudge (~1819-<1891) & Mary Ann MacDonald (1835-1919), in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia.9 Methodist Church, George Fudge was a witness. Louisa was born in Ellershouse, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 20 November 1869.10 Louisa died in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 2 December 1910; she was 41.11 Post Partum Hemorrhage. She was buried in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia.11 Maplewood Cemetery. She resided in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, in 1910. Water Street. Occupation: Housewife.1 Religion: Presbyterian.1

At the time of the 1901 census Louisa lived in Windsor with her husband Alex (34) and their children: Mary (9), Jennie (8), Percy (6), Eva (4), Bessie (2), and Hugh (9 months).
Alex was a baggage master. His annual earnings were $500.

They had the following children:
i. Mary Matheson. Mary was born on 27 November 1891.4
A Mary Matheson, aged 26, lived n Newton, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts in 1920. She was the owner of a restaurant and was a lodger at the home of Andersinna Beshong on Washington St. She immigrated in 1914. It is likely that she was our Mary since a Mary, daughter of Alex, returned to Canada through Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. That Mary was a 27 year old restaurant proprietor living in Watertown, Massachusetts.12
In 1930 Mary lived at 1359 Beacon St in Brookline. She was a lodger living in the household of Anna Linscott. She was the hostess in a tea-room. Mary listed her year of immigration as 1918 this time. She had applied for her first papers for citizenship in the US.13
A Mary Catherine Mathison, possibly our Mary, applied for naturalization. She lived at 1259 Beacon Street, Brookline, Massachusetts and listed her age as 38. The certificate was issued June 8th, 1931 by the US District Court at Boston. Petition No. 130516. Index 14Card No. 34798231.

iv. Evangeline “Eva” Matheson16. Evangeline “Eva” was born in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 27 October 1896.4,16 Evangeline “Eva” died after 1947.17
Eva used her maiden name of Matheson in 1947 when she signed an affidavit attesting to Mabel’s date of birth. As far as I can determine she never married.

v. Bessie Matheson. Bessie was born on 15 February 1899.4
vi. Hugh Robert Matheson18. Hugh Robert was born in Windsor, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, on 11 March 1900.18

2. Percy Matheson (Alexander McKay1). Percy was born on 18 May 1894.4 Percy died in Sanford, York Co., Maine, on 16 September 1966; he was 72.27 He resided in Hanson Road, Sanford, York Co., Maine, in 1927.28 Occupation: Tinsmith.28

According to their marriage record Percy was a tinsmith and Mary was a burler. Percy was of Springvale and Mary was of Sanford.
In 1930, Percy (34), Mary (29)29 and son Ralph E. (3 3/12) lived on 3 Grove Street in Sanford. Percy was a sheet metal worker in a worsted mill. Percy was a veteran of WWI. A brother John N. (26), also lived at 3 Grove St. John had immigrated in 1926 and was unemployed.
Unfortunately I cannot find the Mathesons on Grove St. in the 1940 census for Sanford.
