Here is some more I found on Georg Mueller/Miller after he got to NS...

Information was taken from Ralph B. Whittier’s “Notes on the Early History of Central Hants County” edited by West Hants Historical Society, 2001. Copyright 1979 by Ralph B. Whittier. ISBN 0-9680641-4-0
Between March 28, 1979 and December 3, 1980, a series of articles appeared in The Hants Journal, a weekly newspaper published in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Titled, Notes on the Early History of Central Hants County, these articles were the inspiration and labour of Mr. Ralph B. Whittier of Rawdon.

GEORGE MILLER, a native of Pennsylvania, enlisted in the 84th Reg’t., and when disbanded in 1783, settled in what is now Upper Kennetcook, where he received 500 acres of land. His wife was MARGARET KUHN of Lunenburg. They had a family of 10 children, and most if not all of the Millers in East Hants are descended from this one man.
His son, GEORGE, was born in 1796 and moved to “Georgefield” about 1826, which place is named after him. He married Elizabeth RINES. One of his sons, Jacob Miller, became a brickmaker at Elmsdale. A cousin “Big” Jim Miller, who also learned brick making in the U.S.A., set up a brickyard at Shubenacadie.
James Miller was appointed Justice of the Peace for Hants County, by Joseph Howe. When he later moved to Colchester County, his commission was transferred, and he became known as “Squire Miller”.
The brickyards flourished for many years. The railway built a siding to the yard, and bricks were shipped by rail to all parts of Nova Scotia. Sometimes scows would come up the river on the tide and tie up to posts in the river to load, going back down river when the tide turned.
Eventually James Miller saw a business opportunity in Cape Breton where the steel plant was to build in Sydney. He opened a brickyard at River Denys, Inverness Co., where he sent two of his sons, William and James to look after the operation there. The place became known as “Eden” and the railway built a siding to the brickyard there.
Squire James Miller built a large brick house at Shubenacadie, in the late 1802, of hand-pressed brick, which is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Don Miller.
The Douglas Township records have very few of the Miller statistics but the following seem to be applicable. JOSEPH RINES, born March 22, 1762, married MINNIE CORNEY, born January 1764. They had 10 children of whom, Margaret the seventh child was born August 13, 1802. She married GEORGE MILLER, born August 9, 1796, on November 9, 1821 by Rev. Wiggins.
They had one son John George, born October, 1822. There are three Miller men listed: James Miller, born Oct. 27, 1784, who married Sarah Parr, born October 22, 1784, by Rev. Willoughby on December 21, 1803. This couple had seven children.
Andrew Miller, born October 13, 1786, married by Rev. Willoughby, to Mary Dykens born August 2, 1791, on December 15, 1809. This couple had five children.
Henry Miller, born March 26, 1788, married on December 9, 1813, to Margaret Gill, born March 25, 1783. They had two sons and a daughter.
Another George Miller is listed apparently of another family. Born February 26, 1805, he was married by Rev. Morris to Catherine Hennigar, born March 20, 1808. They had a son James Miller, but no other dates were recorded. The only Catherine Hennigar I have records of was a daughter of Christian Hennigar and his wife Mary (Canon) Hennigar who were married by Rev. Ellis in Windsor on April 22, 1789. Christian and Mary had 10 children, the youngest of whom was Catherine, who was born Februrary 9, 1811.

Hello 'Charlie_Whisky',

I am very interested in your post about 'the Millers as Johan Georg Mueller (b.1730 in Germany) is my gx4 Grandfather.

Your information has taken me back a further generation because previously I had only known of his son, my gx3 Grandfather, 'George Miller', b. 1760 in Pennsylvania. I am descended from his son George Frederick, b. 1796; his son Jacob, b. 1829; and his daughter, Sarah Frances (Sadie) Miller - my Grandmother.

My main reason for writing is to ask if you can provide sources for your information about Johan Georg Mueller (b. 1730, Germany). I recall my father telling me many years ago that the Millers were originally 'Muellers' from Germany, but I never knew whether the story was true or not.
I have a copy of Ralph Whittier's 'Notes on the Early History of Central Hants County', so I am mainly interested in your sources for the first 'Johan Georg' and his son.

I hope to hear from you.

Best wishes,
Mary-Louise Thompson

My original GEDCOM is corrupted (info is mixed up and completely unreliable) and I am in the process of rebuilding my lost tree from years of handwritten notes, as such I have no idea who sent me this information and because it is unverified I am reluctant to post it online (too many people just grab and use as fact),

I will gladly share the information I have, and you can attempt to verify or not, the information. But the forum wont let me send you a private message, maybe if you send me one first? not sure. Or an email. Either way. let me know.

Thanks, happy hunting
