James Marsters/Tryphosa Dimock line
I have been able to trace my Marsters line, supported by records, through Daniel Dimock Marsters and Abigail Ann Hill. Unsupported, it seems from other members that Daniel's father was James Marsters, married to Tryphosa Dimock. I am relatively new to tracing my family lines and would welcome any information and/ or advice you can give on furthering the ancestors in this famliy. I would also love to know if there are pictures that can be shared of John Steadman Marsters, Phoebe Leanna Bishop, Margaret Ann Youdell Card. Much obliged to any who can help!

Re: John Steadman Marsters
Could someone please help clear some details on John Steadman MARSTERS for me please.
I have John Steadman MARSTERS, born 18 Dec 1878 in Summerville, Hants Co., N.S. and the s/o James W. and Rebecca (Wood) Marsters.
In trying to find his death date, I did find a John Steadman Marsters who died 12 Mar 1955 in Kentville, Kings Co., his parents are listed as John Marsters and Rebecca (not known). he was age 75 yrs, 2 mos, 25 dys.
My question is: Could this be the same John Steadman MARSTERS (1878-1955) who's father was James, but his death record shows an error for the name of his father?

Re: John Steadman Marsters
I would say beyond a doubt this is the same person. The birthdate is identical on both the birth record and the death record. With that and the fact that 'Steadman' for a middle name is pretty rare there is no question. I have a couple of ancestors whose death records had mistakes in names. The person reporting the death is usually in a state of shock/sadness, so easy to have 'brain fog'.

Re: John Steadman Marsters
Thank you all for responding! John Steadman Marsters is my great-grandfather and the dates listed for him are correct according to a letter written to my mother by one of his children. I am stuck with James W. Marsters. Is there a record of his death? Some list his death in New York, but I am not sure it is the same James Marsters that is in my line. Thanks again!

Re: James Marsters/Tryphosa Dimock line
i too am trying to trace my descendants - my grandmother is eva gabriel Marsters, married Handley Loomer. but i am going back and the best that i can find is Descendents of Thomas Dymoke, and then choose Generation 4. it shows that tryphosa dimick married Thomas Baker but Tryphena married John Marsters (possibly John Steadman Marsters). they were all born in the 1750's to 1760's. Generation 5 is what i'm looking for but can't bring it up. still looking. i also have some "Cards" as relatives. Handley Loomer's sister Mary (Susan)b. Sept 3 1868, married wm. James Card on Jan 8/1891 and they had 2 children, Ralph and Clara.
