Looking for any information on the Manuel clan especially where did they orininate from before arriving in Canada. My father was Oscar Manuel I know he left Canada at a young age & eventually settled in NY, where he passed away Nov. 1973 at home with his family. Audrey Manuel DiRusso

Just did a quick search of the 1861 Census of Nova Scotia and many of the Manuels state they were born in either Ontario or Quebec. Of the ones born "across the pond" all except one was born in the British Isles, England, Scotland or Ireland. The one exeption was born in Italy.
