PETERS, Gertrude Teresa - 77, Halifax, passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte (Handregan) Peters. She was retired after 50 years of service with Jack & Company Insurance. She was an Honorary Life Member with the Nova Scotia Insurance Women's Association. She had always enjoyed bowling and loved to travel. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Turner, Halifax; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Michael, Alphonse, Charles, Gerald, Joseph, Reginald and Edward. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 6, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, in Blessed Mother Theresa Parish Roman Catholic Church, corner of Robie Street and Normandy Drive, Halifax, Father Hanh Vantran OMI officiating.
