Classification: Query
Surnames: Fagan, Keefe, MacDonald, Kelly, Connors
Hi:
Since I came across this message that is almost 4 years old, this matter may have been resolved by now. My name is Dave Higgins and my great grandmother was Catherine Fagan(1849 - 1894), from Ketch Harbour. Her parents were Simon Fagan Sr (Abt 1812 - Aft 1899) and Margaret Martin (1813 - 1899). Simon was the son of William Fagan from Ketch Harbour and Elizabeth Cribbs from Duncan's Cove, both (Abt 1777 - Aft 1835). To the best of my knowledge Simon had an older sister, Eleanor "Ellen" Fagan, who married William Keefe about 1823 and they had 10 kids. She then married Thomas McDonald from Ketch Harbour on Nov 27, 1841.
My wife's grandmother was Theresa Mable MacDonald (1884 - 1957), born in Halifax, but she was the daugther of William McDonald from Ketch Harbour and Jane Kelly from Eastern Passage. William's parents were John McDonald and Sarah Connors.
This does solve the matter, it looks like confusion over the same names coming in different generations
