Bonnie,

Well, firstly, thanks for digging around. I'm not honestly sure if this will help or not, lol.

The Charles I'm looking for (my maternal g-g-grandfather) died in 1943 I'm pretty sure. I don't know if he married twice, so the Ellen Galligan marriage and kids looks totally unfamiliar.

My g-g-grandmother's name was Elizabeth Mary 'X', so ... that COULD be her, if she was listed as Mary on her wedding certificate.

I'll keep the info just in case I need it down the road; where did you find it anyway?

Thanks again,
Chris

I see. Well, as I said - I'll keep what you passed on, and if I should ever see anything that matches it, I'll write you and let know.

Cheers, Chris

Chris: Are your Hollands from Duncan's Cove/Portuguese Cove? I also wonder if Ellen Theresa was a Gallagher rather than a Gallagan, a common surname in the same area. The Hollands in 1871 census record for Duncan's Cove are:
74/75 HOLLAND THOMAS 44 NS
HOLLAND CATHERINE 40 NS
HOLLAND ELIZA 18 NS
HOLLAND THOMAS 15 NS
HOLLAND ELIZABETH 11 NS
HOLLAND TERESA 9 NS
HOLLAND SARAH 7 NS
HOLLAND MARGARET 5 NS
HOLLAND CHARLES T. 3 NS
HOLLAND JAMES 21 NS

75/76 HOLLAND JEREMIAH 37 NS
HOLLAND REBECCA 22 NS
HOLLAND RICHARD 5 months NS

1871census Portuguese Cove:
31/31 HOLLAND ELIZA age 63 NS
HOLLAND JAMES age 33 NS
HOLLAND CHARLES age 27 NS
HOLLAND ELIZABETH age 30 NS
HOLLAND WILLIAM age 23 NS
HOLLAND ANN age 11 NS

Unfortunately I have no idea where the Holland's are from, lol. I just know my g-g-grandfather was Charles, and he married an Elizabeth Mary 'X', and then had my g-granddad, who married and had my grandmother.

Sorry.
