Hello,
I have a Benjamin Leander Westhaver of Sober Island married to Melissa "Jane" Boutilier of Mushaboom 3 July 1888. He had a sister named Marietta born 1876. Could this be your Reta Westhaver? Their parents were John Westhaver and Sarah Harnish originally from Mill Cove, Lunenburg County, NS.

Dear Laurie,
Do you know the parents of your grandparents? That would be perhaps the generation where we could hook up. Ask family members. Sometimes Aunts and Uncles remember things our parents can not. If you come up with another name, drop me a line and I'll check my records. What I have, I'm willing to share.

I am not sure about whether they could be related. My grandmother was born in like 1910 or 1911.

Hi, I'm not sure if this info will be helpful, but Henry Theodore Verge married Ellen Victoria Westhaver. Henry's parents were Henry Verge and Sarah Elizabeth Young. Henry and Sarah's other son, John David Verge, is the line that I descend from if you have any info. Henry T and Ellen had 12 children, and more of this info can be found on www.ancestry.com

Hi-I'm not sure if this info will be of any use, but I live in Boston, originally from N.S. My Grandmother was Vera Verge from Sheet Harbour. She married Victor Smith. Vera's father was Captain Howard Garfield Verge(31 dec 1884-25 jan 1946). His parents were Mary Victoria Harnish(4 april 1845-9 feb 1916) and John David Verge (2 feb 1846-3 aug 1928). Mary was born in Mill cove, Lunenburg, and John David was born in French Village. He is buried at St. Margaret's cemetary, Sober Island. I'm curious to know if you belong to John David's brother's line-Henry Theodore who married Ellen Victoria Westhaver. Henry T and John D parents were Henry Peter Verge and Sarah Elizabeth Young. They were married on 31 dec 1840. I don't know where Henry P is buried. Henry Peter's parents were George Verge (mar 4 1783-April 16 1850) and Elizabeth Umlach (abt 1787-jan 2 1867). George is a descendent of Joseph Verge Jr and Abigail Dogggett. They were originally from Scituate Mass, then moved to Liverpool around 1779.
