Hi Gina,
I also am researching Daye's of Pope's Harbour. Looking for Robert Daye who married Mary Ann Warren.
This is the only site I know of that gives info on the Daye family of Pope's Harbour

I have alot of info as well. I have been trying to figure out where Robert Daye came from for 3 years. I also have Howard & Alice in my files. I have a photo of them as well from another Daye researcher.Someone in your direct line. My ancestry is through Walter Howard Daye's father Robert Jr's brother Benjamin.

did you find what you were looking for .
I believe your Robert Day (E) was the son of Edward Day and Elizabeth Debaie married in the 1830's and had I believe 7 or 8 children when she passed away. Edward then married Catherine Dewolfe (Wolfe) daughter of William and Elizabeth Weeks (David & Catherine Blakeley) Edward was born inIrlane about 1792 and died in the 1860's.
hope this helps

I still have not found what I am looking for and doubtfuI that I will. I believe my 4th great grandfather Robert Samuel Daye was the son William Daye and Lydia Harpel. Robert has no found birth or baptism record. I have found no connection to Edward Daye and Susan DeBay, but I am familiar with that line. I have also found no coneection to the Jeddore Day's. I am looking for information on William Day and Lydia Harpel.

I am leaning toward Edward on this one. there was another Day family in dartmouth at that time . He was a minister but I don;t have much on him since he is not a relation. I will do some looking and see what i come up with and get back to you in 2-3 weeks

regards

Thank You. I would be appreciative to anything you find. Many people have tried to find Robert Daye ancestry and some live right in Nova Scotia. If I lived in Nova Scotia it would be much easier. I am afraid I rely on secondary sources. I did have a search for birth/baptism records on Robert Daye, but none was found. Robert Robert and his wife Mary Ann's, marriage record says his parents were William Daye and Lydia Harben/Harper (something like that). I have been since told Lydia was a Harpel. I have no source and the person did not provide a source.
By the way I have much info on the Edward Daye line. In fact for a very long time I adopted him and Susan Debay as my Robert's parents. Mostly because Edward Daye Jr and Robert Daye Jr had children whom married into the same Mason family and because of the Irish connection.I am afraid I have gave up on that line. But my Great Grandfather, swore his father's side was irish and his mother was scotch that is why I hung onto the Edward Daye line for so long. And my grampa Daye spoke scotch galec, sang irish songs and was irish accented. Are you descendent to Robert Daye and Mary Ann Warren as well?

Cindy:
There is a series of six book 'Haulin' In The Net' by Leblanc in the NSARM in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Many bmds,, etc., re genealogies are included for the early families, including DAY, WARNER, etc., from the Halifax area. I am currently systematically going through those volumes for my own families and I could take a look for some of your DAY connections. You can contact me offline re if this is appropriate for your families, as i am not sure if your NS roots were in the surrounding villages near Halifax.
