I am looking for more information on a Murphy family that lived in Tangier NS. They were descendents of Thomas and Elizabeth Murphy of Kilkenny. I've picked up the family in NS around 1846 with George Edward Murphy, born May 10, 1846. He married Levenia Elizabeth Mason, born June 20,1852. I have the names and birth dates for their fifteen children.

My grand mother Iola Jennie Louise Murphy b. Jan 8 1886 in married George Foster Butler b. Oct 4 1875 at St. Peter's Anglican, Murphy Cove, NS on Oct 9 1905. Iola's father was Robie Douglas Murphy and he had a brother Charles. I'm not sure if this is the Muphy family you seek but I do know that members of both the Murphy and Butler families worked around the Tangier gold mines.

I am looking for relatives of the Murphy family that lived in or around Tangiers about 1900. There were five brothers that left for Alaska. Some of the names were: Frank, Charlie,Jack,George. Somehow the family was also tied to the Mason family. Supposedly the Murphy family had a land grant in the area of Murphy Cove or Tangier.

My grandfather Thomas Murphy was born in Murphy Cove in 1883 to Robert & Ellen (Whitehead) Murphy. I would appreciate any information you can share about Thomas and Elizabeth Murphy, whom I believe to be the founders of Murphy Cove.

Thanks

Do you have any info on Bertha Murphy who had a son Joseph Myles Murphy on July 1st 1890 in Spry Bay.
Also do you have any info on the birth of Gertrude Murphy who was born in Shoal Bay around 1889-1894. She married Malcolm Hawes. I am her son but never did know who my grandparents were and would love to know as my wife is trying to do my family ancestry. I know she had a sister Minnie and also a brother Myles. I believe the Joseph Myles born in 1890 and later adopted by the Keatings. Would really appreciate any info you have.
