I am researching my gr grandparents, both from Guysborough Co, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ephraim Parks b 1839 d 1908 m Charlotte Spanks b 1844 d 1927.

My grandparent was Albert W. Parks b 1867 d 1949 m Caroline Morinda Wheaton b 1860 d 1937. Albert and Caroline were married 1890.

I have seemed to hit a brick wall, as far as Ephraim Parks and Charlotte Spanks. I would love some information on their parents and siblings.

Hi,
I have a little new information about Charlotte J. Spanks. She was born May 31, 1844, died April 16, 1928 and is buried in Steep Creek, Guysborough, Nova Scotia.

Thank for answering my query.
Marcia

I think everybody has hit that brick wall. Though I the Familysearch site had a John Henry Parks and Elizabeth Bigsby as parents, i have no idea where this info came from, and whether it has any accuracy. Censuses have Ephraim and Charlotte as methodists. The Parks identify themselves as Irish and the Spanks as dutch or Scottish. A couple of her grandparents were loyalists from america. See history of methodism and the german/irish immigrant in NY.

according to the 1861 and 1871 censuses there are a few Parks in Guysborough - presumably related. Cyrus F, Daniel, and John Sr. Could Cyrus and John be cousins? Is John the same as Henry Parks? Is John / Henry / John Henry the father of Ephraim. A woman named Bigsby is said to have married an unidentified Parks. Verifying connections can be tough.
