Surnames: McRae, Zimmerman, Joyner
Looking for information on Kenneth A. McRae (any spelling). Here's what we know:
- 1863-65 -- born in Nova Scotia (possibly Cape Breton)
- 1886 -- immigrated to US, according to 1900 census.
- 1890 -- married Estelle May Zimmerman (1873-1944)
- 1893 -- son John Kenneth McRae born
- 1896?-- son Guy Clinton McRae born (possibly in Cape Breton)
- 1896 -- son Kenneth A(llen?) McRae born
- 1899 -- death of Guy Clinton* in Massachusetts
- 1900 -- daughter Annie V. McRae** born
- 1900 -- Kenneth and Estelle are on the Cambridge, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts, census
with John, Kenneth Allen, and Annie. Kenneth's occupation is listed as an engineer
working for the railroad.

* Death record of Guy Clinton states that he and his father were both born in Cape Breton, NS.
** Later, Annie becomes mother of two children: Patricia Joyner and Estelle Joyner

Estelle and Annie are found on the 1920, 1930, and 1940 censuses. Estelle is listed as "widowed". Her birthplace has been recorded on censuses as Tennessee and Michigan.

From a Clan MacRae genealogist:
"There is a Kenneth A. McRae in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY. He had a wife there named Margaret. ... He was also born about 1864 or 1865 in Canada. He was also a stationary engineer. ... In the 1930 census, he claims he was first married at age 42 in 1906 and was naturalized in 1915 (not consistent with the info you have from 1900), ... The city directories of Syracuse show him there as early as 1907. In the 1910 census, he is residing in a hotel. His birth place is Nova Scotia, although that seems to be crossed out faintly and something which could be "Massachusetts" is written above the line. Margaret is also there and he is said to have been married to her ten years, though this contradicts the 1930 census. He died in 1938 and is buried with his wife Margaret E. (1878-1944) at North Syracuse Cemetery. ..."

We are searching for:
- parents and/or siblings of the senior Kenneth A. McRae (1863/65-?)
- evidence showing that the Kenneth A. McRae in Syracuse, NY, either is or isn't the same
Kenneth A. on the 1900 census in MA.
- death certificates for Kenneth A. and Estelle.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Kathy
