John F. SJOLIN--- Johan Fredrik Sjölin 1888-1917

Hi,
I have been contacted by a woman in Sweden who supplied me with a little
info about an 85th battalion member. (She is researching Swedes who served
in WW1.)
In the nominal Roll on my 85th site it lists his home as Lunenburg, N.S.
Below is the info she provided.

****************
He was born 28 Oct 1888 in Oxie parish in Skåne province in Sweden as
Johan Fredrik Sjölin. He later lived in Limhamn, Malmö in Sweden.
He was a sailor or fisherman there. He was married and had two sons,
Gunnar, b. in 1910 and Knut, b. in 1912. His wife was Anna Katarina
Sjölin, née Hansson.
His wife was notified of his death on 23 November 1917 and in January 1918
an estate inventory was made.
She never remarried and died in 1974.
****************

Does anyone have any information about him. When did he come to Canada? Was
his wife with him here (and children) or was she in Sweden?
Any information would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Susan
