I'm searching for the descendants of John NELSON (1772-?) of Truro and Margaret ARCHIBALD (1785-?) of Musquodoboit who lived in the Colchester area for a time. Most of their children lived in the Truro, New Annan & Waugh's River area of Colchester:

John NELSON was a son of David NELSON (1759 – 1788) and Margaret ARCHIBALD (1759 – 1794).

Margaret ARCHIBALD (1785-?) was a daughter of John ARCHIBALD (1747 – 1790) and Alice MOORE (1750 – 1784).

The elder Margaret ARCHIBALD was a sister of John ARCHIBALD and children of Samuel ARCHIBALD and Eleanor TAYLOR.

The children of John NELSON & Margaret ARCHIBALD I believe were:

Hugh NELSON (? - 1867)
Robert NELSON
David NELSON (1803 – 1839)
John NELSON (1805 – 1872)
Nancy NELSON (1808 – ?)
Margaret Archibald NELSON (1814 – 1895)

I'm especially interested in the family of Hugh NELSON who married Nancy CAMERON of Mount Thom, Pictou.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,
I just came across your post which is several years old. Not sure if we have ever been in contact. I descend from Margaret Archibald Nelson and Daniel Hyndman through their daughter Isabella Hyndman that married William Wilmoth.

My grandfather was Nelson Bernard Wilmoth. He died in 1958, and never remembered knowing his parents. My grandfather knew very little about his family and in fact he thought he was born in Massachusetts. His mother died from TB in Massachusetts and her body was shipped back to Nova Scotia. He was told his father also died when he was young which we know now wasn't true. He was raised by his sister Margaret that sent him out to sea as a cabin boy when he was 12. He met his sister Jenny Wilmoth Tye one time. I have spent the last 30 years trying to track down his family history. My grandfather married Mabel Daggett and they had 2 two daughters. My grandfather also had 1 son as a result of an affair. That child was placed in the foster care system and was adopted when he was a teenager. My grandfather was a plumber and he did place all the plumbing in lighthouses from Massachusetts to Maine.
