I am the genealogist for the island of Lismore in Argyll, Scotland. I have a list of people who emigrated from Lismore late 17th or early 18th centuries. They seemed to go to Nova Scotia. I have little information other than the names. I wonder if any of them ring a bell - Dugald McColl; Alexander Carmichael; Alexander Graham; Maggie McDonald, William Stewart and McLennans. There were McDonalds (Duncan) who went to Cape Breton island. He married Jane Cameron and had four sons and three daughters. His address was North Mountain, West Bay which I understand is not Marble Mountain.
If anyone can help I would be most grateful since I am planning an "Emigration" exhibition for our Heritage Centre later this year. In anticipation tapadh leibh! Laura
