Henry Delorey and Ann Broderick were my grandparents. Ann's parents were Daniel Broderick and Mary Burke. I would very much like to follow the family tree back to Ireland but have never been able to find anything. Does anyone have any info that would help. Ann was born in Main-a-dieu, Cape Breton.

Daniel Broderick's father is listed as Daniel Broderick on record of passes. Daniel Broderick Sr. record of passing states he is of England. Daniel Broderick Jr. is born in Newfoundland. I believe Daniel Broderick Sr. and Alice Murphy are married in Newfoundland because because her record of passing states of Killkenny , Ireland.

Hi; Sorry I took so long to get back to you but we were away. Thank you for replying to my question. All I know about them is that he was married to Mary Burke and they lived in Main-a-dieu, on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. My grandmother Anne Broderick was born there on Sept 1st 1846 and was still living there when she married my grandfather, Henry Delorey. in1868.
Maybe with what ever info you have we can piece things together. I have a picture of them but not her parents. You are welcome to a copy. Look forward to hearing from you again, Martie

Hi Martie, The parents of Daniel Broderick can be found on the Nova Scotia historical site. Send me your email in a private message and, I can send a link to the site. I would like to see your photo for reference, so when other photo with more people come available other family members might be documented. That website documents can be viewed or purchased. It can get you back to the late 1700's for both the Broderick's and Murphy families. The spelling is off on the the last name for Daniel, so just search for Daniel B in Cape Breton and Alice B in Cape Breton. Let me know, if you need help. Dan~* P. S. Daniel Brothers and Broders is also spelling for this family. Daniel Brother passes 1875. His father 1876. Alice Broderick passes 1872.

For some reason the messaging won't open. Try the Nova Scotia Historical website and see what you find. I will try and connect direct to you, if messaging begins to work. Dan~*
