Hello:
I am searching for relatives of my Dad - Wilfred Charles (John/Jack) Anderson born in Sydney Mines, March 1916 or 1917, his parents were Edward Anderson born in Little Bras d'Or around 1881/died 1927 & buried in St. Joseph's cemetry along with his 2 infant sons Michael & Edward and my Dad's mother was Mary Ann Hall born in Sydney Mines, around 1885 - do not know when she died or where she is buried.
Edward's parents were Martin Anderson & Jane Fortune, Martin's parents were Angus Anderson (born in Scotland) & Ann MacDonald. Jane's parents were Edward Fortune & Mary Cahill.
Mary Ann's parents were Joseph Hall & Johanna Fortune. Joseph's parents were Martin Hall & Mary McKinnon. Johanna's parents were William Fortune & Johanna Long.
Edward Fortune & William Fortune were brothers and their parents were Francis Fortune & Susanna Catherine Boutilier born in Lunenberg.
My Grandfather Edward Anderson had 1 brother, James Angus Anderson who married Elizabeth Young, had 3 sisters - Catherine who married John Walsh and Anna Maria & Jane who were not married as far I can tell.
I cannot find any siblings for my Grandmother Mary Ann Hall Anderson and cannot find if she remarried after Edward died in 1927.
Dad's Uncle James who married Elizabeth Young had 5 children, 3 daughters Sarah Ann, Mary Jane & Margaret died from TB early in life, no info on daughter Lilian. Their son Angus James Anderson married Janet Gertrude Collier. All 5 were born in Sydney Mines. Cannot find any further info on this family.
Dad's Aunt Catherine who married John Walsh also had 5 children, 3 daughters Mary, Bertha & no first name listed although I found a birth certificate for this 3rd daughter. They had 2 sons, John & Joseph and I have no further info on this family either except that all 5 were born in Bridgeport.
I have been able to go back mutiple generations on both sides but I am not having any luck finding a living relative for my Dad who passed in Toronto in 1969. I have not been able to find out if Dad had any siblings that lived - hopefully the 1921 census comes out soon.
If anyone recognizes any of these names and knows of any connection to a living relative that I can contact - I will be forever grateful.
Thank you to all for taking the time to read this long message. Very sincerely yours, Gail Anderson Leonardo
