Surnames: Cross
I am looking for any close family of Morton Cross and Emma Robar (children or grandchildren) who were married in Nictaux Falls, Annapolis County in 1906. They later owned a large tract of land (390) along the Nictaux River which they bought from Frank Elloitt in 1920. Emma died in Nictaux Falls of breast cancer in 1935. In 1946, Morton now 70, sold all but 11 acres and the buildings between the river and CNR (railway) to Harold Montgomery. It appears Morton died around 1961, possibly without a will, but the property is still in his name so naturally the taxes have not been paid and the County has finally noticed. Unless there is a relative we can notify, this property will be sold at tax sale in February.

His obituary is in the Chronicle Herald of 07 April 1961.

No link.

Depends on where you live.
Films of that paper are at the Archives in Halifax, The Halifax Regional Library and Acadia University.

Paradise. Too far and not really interested. I am searching titles for the County and just trying to see if a descendant wants to keep the property which looks to be land and river locked but would have lots of marketable lumber.
