He was a chartered accountant. His 3 brothers are Neal Balcom resided in Malden Mass. He was an electrician. His oldest son is Manning Balcom Next brother was
William Balcom resided around Boston and the third brother was Harold Balcom resided in the Boston area and he also was an electrician
My Grandmother Deborah Constance Hopkins( Crowell) Balcom 1668 Chestnut St., Halifax ,N.S .born in Barrington Passage 1891 (deceased)Dec.,1988 she was a school teacher and her father was Reverend Edwin Crowell of Barrington Passage Nova Scotia and had 2 children my grandmother Deborah Constance Hopkins( Crowell) Balcom and her brother Dr.Harvey Edwin Crowell and was on the board of Acadia University around 1965 I believe.He has a tower on the campus named the Crowell Tower.He had 2 childen Marion Crowell( 81 years old)never married and Edwin Crowell 80 in Feb.who has 2 children Harvey Crowell and the other I don’t know.

My Father George Edwin Balcom born in Halifax N.S.Jan.1,1927 Last Residence Halifax 1668 Chestnut St., Halifax,N.S. (deceased)Dec.17,1982 He was an Aero Engine Tecnician His wife is my mother Valerie Patricia Mailman (Balcom) and she was born on June3,1932 in Middleton, N.S .Her father was Ward Kingdeon Mailman-88, passed away May 5,1988
Park Haven Extendicare,Halifax,formerly of Nictaux,Annapolis County,he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Scofield) Mailman He was a veteran of the First and Second World Wars.he was a painter and decorator by trade.He is survived by two sons,Eric,Nictaux;Cederic,Ellershouse,Hants County;a daughter,Valerie BalcomDartmouth;several nieces and
nephews.He was predeceased by his first wife,Jeannette Risser;his second wife;three brothers;two sisters.The body has been cremated.Memorial service will be held at a later date in Nictaux Baptist Church.Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
