Is anyone aware of more children for Jacob and Mary Elliott ca. 1835? Could be a connection to my Sarah Matilda Elliot, born 1876. She had claimed to be from a family of 13 children. She always spoke of Newfoundland, Saint Johns, and Nova Scotia. I did not heard anything of Pacquet until I found it listed on her Border Crossing Records.

From Canadian Immigration and Border Crossing records on Ancesty I have found out:

She traveled to Sydney Town, Nova Scotia as a "Domestic" in 1898 (1901 Census)

May 1908, she lists Mrs Mary Elliot of Pacquet, NFLD, as next of kin on Border Crossing card to Buffalo, New York. On same card, states came to Sydney in Nov, 1906 on SS Brxxx (maybe Bruce, I found a ship name, but not the record of her arriving). Also states her last permanent residence at that time was Toronto.

June, 1908 Border Crossing to Black Rock, NY states same info plus ultimate destination as Kokomo, Indiana to see "Mrs. Porter".

By December, 1908 she had married in Kokomo, Indiana.
Do you know how to get access to 1861 NFLD census, I have not seen this online anywhere?

Anyhow, hoping someone might be able to help me fill in some blanks on the Canadian side of things, this is my first foray North of the Border.

Thanks,

Esther Smith
