Hi Joanne

I have information on Joseph Barrett who married Mary Ryan.
They married November 11th, 1828 in Saint Paul's Anglican Parish, Trinity. They had seven children.
Edward - born May 27, 1831
Letitia - Born Sept. 22, 1833
Johanna - Born August 01, 1835
Richard - Born June 02, 1837 (my great-great-great grandfather)
Flora - Born November 10th, 1839
Emmanuel - 1842
Mary Anne - 1844

Richard moved to Fleur-de-lys and had a family there.

Joseph's parents are John Ballet and Jane Pinson of Salmon Cove. He died in 1833. They ahd four children,

Edward (Edmond)- b.March 02, 1794
Rose - b.1797
John - b.1799
*Joseph - b.1803

so it is correct that Joseph Ballet married Mary Ryan Nov.11 1828.Both from Ship Cove.
The info.I have points to the following;

The siblings you listed including a Joseph of 1803,are of John Bailey and Jane (pinson/Bailey) of Salmon Cove.,no relation to our Barrett/Ballet linage.
I would love to have your source to point me in the right direction, mine started with Joseph's wedding but nothing before that. He died at age 48 in 1851,which tells me he was born in 1803. I really appreciate your help,as I think we are looking for the same Joseph. The spelling on his wed.cert, is definitely Ballet.
Thank you.
John.

Joseph and Mary Ryan were the parents of my great-great-great grandafther Richard Barrett, who ended up in Fleur-de-lys, Newfoundland. I grew up there and a lot of this oral tradition with details to match up to Richard and Jane Noftall, who was the father of my great grandmother, Annie.

Information about Richard says he was living with Jane in lobster Harbour around 1860, but left for Fleur-de-lys about 1870. I am amking the assumption that his father, Joseph Barrett, was living there as well at that time, and either Ship Cove and Lobster Cove are in clsoe proximity or they are indeed the same township I cannot find. I also haven't been able to find any information on a move of any sort. But I am certain that the descendants of Richard Barrett are in Fleur-de-lys to this day, my family being one of many.

It appears Joseph and Mary were married in St. Paul's Anglican Parish of Trinity, November 11, 1828 as you had said.

I will keep researching this locality (Lobster Harbour, Trinity Bay, and Saint pauls agligan parish for more records.
