Re: Lejeune / Young dispensation of consanguinity
Hi Andre,
At the beginning of this thread you listed: Sophie Alexander + Francois Marche, married 1858-6-4
I also have these two names from the Sandy Point Church Registry online.
These are the people I am searching for.

Re: Lejeune / Young dispensation of consanguinity
Hi,
I was confused because you wright: "Just wondering if you were ever able to locate a dispensation of consanguinity for Francois Marche and Sophie LeJeune?"

Re: Lejeune / Young dispensation of consanguinity
Sorry Andre,
To quote your original thread:
Could you help me to find if some of those marriages need a dispensation of consanguinity (and what is the degree) to get married, in Sandy Point Register, please ?
I am wondering if Sophie and Francois Marriage needed a dispensation of consanguinity?
I am not positive what this means, but I think it means permission to marry because they were cousins. I am wondering if you know if this was needed for their marriage and if so is it documented somewhere.

Re: Lejeune / Young dispensation of consanguinity
Hello again,
So here the answer:
Francois Marche s/o Jean Marche & Marie LeJeune Parents of Marie Lejeune: Gabriel Lejeune/Young and Sarah Ryley Grandparents of Marie Lejeune: Joseph Lejeune and Martine Le Roy
Sophie Alexander d/o the late Andre Alexander & Sophie LeJeune Parents of Sophie: Joseph LeJeune + Agathe Lejeune Parents of Joseph : Joseph Lejeune and Martine Le Roy Parents of Agathe : Christophe Lejeune and Louise Gallant
So they share the same great grandparents.
So they absolutely need a dispensation for the third degree of consanguinity.
Best regards! Andre
