Thanks Valerie for your reply. I was so excited today when I came upon this message board. Now I can remember Dad mentioning his Aunt Mary who lives in Sydney. I don't know how to get your e-mail address from this site so send it to me at:
youngmc@nf.sympatico.ca and I will continue to keep in touch with you. Thanks again!!
PS: My Mom is still living in Piccadilly, next door to me.

Hi Michele and Valerie,
Please excuse me for jumping in here but Michele and I used to be next door neigbors of a sort since I grew up in Picadilly
Please give my regards to all your family.

I've been searching the McIsaac and Young connections too, particularly since I was curious to know whether or not my MacIsaacs or MacDonalds were connected. I have lots of Lejeunes in my family lines on both sides. I would have thought finding my Scottish ties would be easier.

Sarah MacIsaac married Emannuel Hynes. Sarah was daughter of John and Annie. Sarah and Manuel's daughter was Annie Hynes(Rioux). Annie was mother to Clayton, who passed away a while ago, God Bless him. But I'm sure you know this.

Now what I've been trying to do is prove that my MacIsaacs who settled in Heatherton aka Little River are related to yours. My grandmother was a MacDonald before she married Reginald Duffenais and she has MacIsaac in her genealogy.

My grandmother has said that Sarah told her they were cousins.
This has always made us think of Clayton Rioux as family although I did not realize you were related to him. Small world.

As Valerie said, we still haven't confirmed the info on Angus and Kate Campbell. There are two Angus MacIsaacs with two different birthdates and obviously two different wives and families. It's very important that we straighten it out because I think one's roots are in Canna, Scotland and the other is in Moidart. That would determine whether or not my family is related.

So far, any MacIsaac information I've turned up on my family ties me into those who came from Canna. If I'm related to John MacIsaac and Annie Young, I would have ties to Moidart too.

Since I grew up on the Port au Port Peninsula, I've been very curious about tracing each line of MacIsaacs and MacDonalds there, hoping to find a connection to someone else in Nfld. I have found some cousins but only those who have the same info as me.

We know MacIsaacs and MacDonalds moved freely back and forth and some even moved quite far from their families. It's all very confusing at this point but Valerie has lots of info to share, and I'm glad you've joined the search too since we need all the help we can get to sort this out.

Hope you have lots of luck in tracing all your roots
Take care
Rhonda

Hello Michele,

I'm looking for old picture of Lejeune and Young. Do you have any picture ? Do you want to share with me ? Like Annie Young or her parents ?

Thanks for your help. It's for a book I plan to do on the Lejeune Young Family.

Have a nice day !
Andre, from Montreal, Quebec

Hi Andre: I would be delighted if I had any photos of my husband's grandmother Annie Young but alas I don't. Someone did send me an article on a man named John Young - he was one of the oldest living people in Newfoundland. The newspaper article was written in the 1970's I believe - and there is supposition that he is the brother of Annie Young (daughter of Jean LeJeune and Selina Young) but that has not been 100% proven. It's very faint and does not transmit well but I could send it to you if you wish. This John Young was married to Flossie Bruce - and according to my mother-in-law - this John was indeed her mother's brother.
Look forward to hearing of your progress with the LeJeune/Young families.
Valerie.

Hi Valerie,

My cousin, Michelle and I are on our way to Port at Port/Picadilly now (from Ontario) and plan on looking for info on our Grandmother (Matilda Young D2010). I saw your posts and her father was John Young (the man in the article you mentioned). My grandmother was part of John Young's 2nd family and she spoke of remembering Annie who was just a baby when her Mother married John Young. Not sure if he also had a sister by that name but definitely a child Annie.
Not sure if you have any further information regarding John Young other than what you already posted (My Mom has shared some of what she has learned) but anything you have would be appreciated. I will share what I can as well.

Thanks,
Melodie Muir
