Hi, I'm looking to chat with anyone who can clear up a bit of a research mystery that I have encountered relating to the Frampton line. Specifically, about the marriage between a Solomon Childs and an Amy Frampton in 1898 to which I have a marriage record of. However, my great grandmother is said to have been Emma Jane Frampton and she is said to have been married to a Solomon Childs (my grandfathers parents) as well. I have seen some posts where some believe that Amy and Emma are the same person. But this cannot be so as I have a marriage record that lists Solomon's and Amy's marriage in 1898 with one of the witnesses noted as being Emma Jane Frampton, so they cannot be the same person. HOWEVER, in the 1911 census Solomon's wife is noted as "Emma" not "Amy" and all records thereafter note his wife as Emma. So something took place between 1898 and 1911. However, I can find no records. My mother inisists that her grandmothers name was "Emma", not "Amy". So, my question is what happened to "Amy", and when and why did "Emma" take her place. To top it all off, I came across a record of marriage from 1897 for an Andrew Frampton and an Emma Jane Anderson. So after her marriage she became Emma Jane Frampton. There are no death records that I can find for an Amy Childs (nee Frampton), nor is there a marriage record for Solomon Childs and Emma Jane Frampton that I can find. Anyway, mystery of mysteries. Can someone help?????
