Re: Old Perlican TB research
Hi Edith: Your John March/Ann Julia Norman settled on the west side of Green's Harbour, so if you look in the Methodist Church records, you should find the decendants of your family. My John M March was born in Green's Harbour, but his Father is ? John March, mother Mary Coish of Old Perlican, unable to confirm this. But at the time the Marches moved from Old Perlican there seemes to be a lot of males with the first name John. My GGGrandfather was Samuel Cooper of Old Perlican & Martha or Mahala Cramm of Carbonear. I have a lot of the Names Printed and can tell you the way to go on the West Side Marches if you need it.

Gwen... the Drover's in Newfoundland came from Ringwood in England (near Christchurch) but there are none there now. Most went to Newfoundland or to Australia but I don't think it is a common surname in most of the world. We look when we travel but there usually are no Drovers. I noticed that there are a few in Scotland outside Edinburgh, likely your relatives. I have also been to the Drover's Inn near Loch Lomand. My daughter lived in Edinburgh for a few years. I love Scotland. I suspect like most Drovers here you can trace your mothers line to the Ringwood area.

Parish register info: Eli Day m Elizabeth Ann Day Dec. 15, 1865. Births/baptism: There are two different listings-one for parents Eli and Elizabeth; the other for Eli & Elizabeth Ann. I assume they are one and the same. Eli & Elizabeth children: Eli June 8, 1885 (d. 1893) Eldon Dec. 28, 1887 Eli & Elizabeth Ann children: William John July 1, 1874 Simeon July 30, 1876 Maria Jane Apr. 29, 1879 Alice Mary Aug 7, 1882

Re: Drover surname ///. PEDDLE INFO
Hello! I realize it's been a while sine these posts were made but I have a question about someone you had been inquiring about in the past.... John & Lillian Peddle of Chance Cove. I have a William Henry Peddle in my family tree, my great grandfather. My Mom says he was born in England but it may have been his parents. Anyhow, we also believe he had a brother John and that they both lived in Chance Cove with their families at the same time. Are you able to confirm if John and William are brothers? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER.

Hi Gerry, you may be related to my husband's family Thomas and Sarah Drover of St. John's, son William, daughter's Catherine and Bridget and Florence Isabelle. Thomas was born in 1861 and Sarah born 1853.
