My Grandfather and his parents
My Grandfather was born in St.Johns, New Foundland, his name was Leslie Sidnour Gaulton 10/22/1871. His Father was Dorastus Gaulton - I believe also born in NF in 10/1833, he married Agnes Moore born also in NF ( born 6/1836 ) My Grandfather was one of seven children. I have my Grandfather's citzenship papers dated 1903 in Boston. In 1900 he was living in Boston ( census records ) with his parents and a sister Mary. Dorastus was a sailmaker at St. Johns - I believe his father may have been John Gaulton but I don't have proof. I have more information

In searching my database, I have found 2 Gaulton gentlemen.
John Gaulton who married Mary Willcott of Conne River, Nfld.
Leslie Gaulton who married Veronica Willcott of Conne River, Newfoundland.
Unfortunately, I have no dates for the above, nor further information. I am researching the BILLARD family in Newfoundland.

Your Query is interesting to me because of the similar names found in the Gaulton family of the Wesleyville and Greenspond area of Nfld. My wife's great grandmother was Esther Jane Gaulton (b. 1877) who married Walter Noseworthy. Esther Jane's parents were Reuben Gaulton (b. 1846) and Catherine Stokes (b. 1856). Reuben was a widower but I do not know his first wife's name. Reuben's father was named Alfred Gaulton. Using the 25-30 yr. rule I estimate Alfred would have been born about 1816-1821 but I have no certain information on him.
